Knowledge Session at AlZaytoonah University of Jordan on the Integration of Circular Economy and Green Economy

Khaberni - Reflecting its institutional vision in consolidating leadership, innovation, and sustainability, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, in cooperation with the Crown Prince Foundation, organized a specialized knowledge session titled "Integration between the Circular Economy and the Green Economy," presented by Engineer Shada Al-Sharif, advisor for Green Economy, Sustainability, and Climate Change, and the CEO of SustainMENA, in the presence of Ahmed Abusheikha, the director of the capital's office at the Crown Prince Foundation, and several faculty members and students.

This event came as part of the university's commitment to enhancing awareness of future issues, and advancing the understanding of green transformation and sustainable development concepts, in alignment with its strategic directions to support applied knowledge and link it to national and global challenges.

Engineer Shada Al-Sharif emphasized during the session that the integration between the circular economy and the green economy is no longer a theoretical option, but has become a strategic necessity imposed by challenges related to water, energy, food, and climate. She noted that this approach contributes to building more resource-efficient economies, capable of achieving growth without depleting future potentials.

She added that this transformation opens wide prospects for innovation, providing youth, universities, and institutions with greater scope to develop practical solutions and pioneering initiatives with sustainable economic, social, and environmental impacts, especially in sectors related to daily life, development quality, and its sustainability.

For his part, Dr. Bilal Al-Wadi, the director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, affirmed that the university views the circular and green economy as a national and strategic pathway for the future of development and innovation in Jordan, pointing out the growing national interest in green transformation in the fields of renewable energy, regulatory frameworks, and promising opportunities for green jobs and projects.

Al-Wadi stated that Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan believes that true leadership starts from the ability to read challenges and turn them into valuable and impactful opportunities, confirming that presenting these concepts to students reflects the university's commitment to preparing a pioneering and conscious generation, capable of keeping pace with changes and launching innovative initiatives that serve national priorities and the future.

In turn, Dr. Mamoun Abuhmad emphasized that extracurricular activities are a fundamental pillar in the university experience for developing a student's personality and skills, pointing out the support of the deanery for purposeful events that enhance leadership, innovation, and sustainability.
