Khaberni - Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan stated that the cabinet reshuffle is not an end in itself and he does not contemplate it unless there are justifiable reasons.
He continued that the government has a clear action plan, is aware of the scale of requirements and challenges it faces, and knows how to proceed with solutions and achievements.
In an interview with Jordanian TV, which aired on Sunday evening, he confirmed that the government's second executive program will be launched soon, comprising dozens of initiatives, programs, and legislations.
He explained that the visions of modernization are Jordan's project for the future and the most important goal of all our programs is to ensure employment and income opportunities for our youth.
He added: "Fieldwork is my style and school of work and I will continue with it until the last day of the government’s term."
He referred to his visits last year to 130 locations, where each site experienced a positive change or solutions were found for some of its problems, and these visits and holding cabinet meetings in the provinces will continue.
He clarified that the credibility of the government and any official depends on their ability to commit to what they promised.
He added: "Securing over 4 million Jordanians at the King Hussein Cancer Center is the most important decision made by the government."
He discussed major projects in the sectors of water, energy, transportation, tourism, and construction valued at around 11 billion dollars, which will begin implementation this year and over the next few years.
He emphasized that the financial closing of the national carrier project with investors and donors will occur in the next sixty days, and its implementation will start by the end of the first quarter of this year, with completion expected by the end of 2030.
He stressed the endeavor to cover more than 80 percent of our sectors' needs for natural gas from the Risha field.
He revealed that the regional railway project is a done deal, and Jordan must be a part of it.
He noted that this year is pivotal and it is essential to start energy, water, and railway projects so we can complete them within the next four years.
He mentioned that the Ummah City project serves the expected large population increase in Amman and Zarqa and it is not a new capital or a new administrative capital.
He noted that the fiscal and monetary policies through past years and crises have helped strengthen Jordan’s economic stance.
He noted, “We have thus far repaid over 600 million dinars in arrears from previous years, and God willing, we will not leave any arrears when we leave our position.”
He pointed out that the debt is a result of crises accumulating on the Jordanian economy over an extended period, and we are committed to reducing it to 80 percent of the GDP in the next two years.
He confirmed that the relationship with the parliament is one of cooperation governed by the Constitution, and he met with all parties and parliamentary blocks, benefiting greatly from the deputies' remarks, especially in our work with the provinces and in developing development programs and field visits.
He emphasized that priority is given to ensuring the ceasefire in Gaza and moving swiftly to the second phase.
He added that the presence and resilience of the Palestinian people in their land are the greatest expressions of resistance, as resilience is resistance itself.
He explained that our international and regional relations are governed by Jordan's interests, security, and stability first and foremost.
He confirmed that Syria's success is a success for Jordan and the Arab region, and we support building its institutions and extending its control over all its territories.
He stated that the subject of security and borders with Syria is fundamental and pivotal, and the issue of water is also strategic and a matter of national security, and it is necessary to reach a fair agreement with the Syrian side in regards to water.
“I was honored to serve the flag more than 36 years ago, and it is an honor for every young person to wear the badge of the Arab Army on their forehead,” said Hassan.
He noted that His Majesty the King never succumbs to gloomy expectations but always seeks opportunities and solutions to overcome challenges, and His Majesty's leadership style is a school for any official, and he follows even the minutest details concerning the nation and citizens.
