Khaberni - Mohammed Shahadeh, Director of Examinations and Assessments at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, stated that general secondary exam questions will be derived from the curriculum, advising students to concentrate their efforts on the school textbook and avoid summaries that disperse their efforts.
In statements to the "Al Mamlaka" channel, he added that the exam paper is written according to specific specifications by assessment experts, and that the questions are classified into three levels; easy questions, medium questions, and high-ability questions which do not exceed 20% of the exam, indicating that a student who studies with moderate effort can easily succeed.
He explained that there are several categories of students who take the exam; firstly, the regular students in the academic track, numbering more than 127,000, whose exams in the second year subjects consist of multiple-choice questions with 50 questions per paper, then there are about 13,000 regular students in the technical vocational track; the exam format for them will be as it was in the first year. As for the students repeating from old plans, numbering 55,000, they will follow the question format of past years.
He mentioned that the multiple-choice system does not rely on luck; it is globally used to measure broader results. He noted that the ministry has plans to computerize the exam system, to be based on question banks for crafting equivalent exams, while maintaining a creative aspect in some exams.
He added that the exam duration is carefully studied; there are criteria for studying the exam time, pointing out that the exam time should be three times the time needed by the exam setter to solve it, indicating that time management is a part of student evaluation, and that students should know how to manage their time.
