Agricultural Producer Prices Up 57 During the First Eleven Months of Last Year

Khaberni - The Department of Statistics issued its monthly report for the year 2025 on the general index of agricultural producer prices, which recorded an increase in agricultural producer prices by 5.7% in the first eleven months of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, a decrease of 5.5% for the month of November 2025 compared with the corresponding month of 2024, and a decrease of 1.1% compared with the preceding month of the same year.

The cumulative index for agricultural producer prices for the first eleven months of 2025 amounted to 115.7 compared to 109.5 for the same period in 2024. The index for the month of November 2025 stood at 115.5 compared to 122.1 for the same month in 2024, while the index for agricultural producer prices for the month of November 2025 was 115.5 compared to 116.8 for the preceding October of the same year.

Comparing the first eleven months of 2025 with the same period in 2024, prices for agricultural producers of a number of crops, representing a relative importance of 31.2%, have risen, most notably: bananas 23.2%, hot peppers 19.2%, and green bell peppers 15.5%.

The decrease in the index for agricultural producer prices in November 2025 compared to the same month in 2024 is attributed to the drop in the index for several crops, representing a relative importance of 39.7%, most notably: potatoes by 70.5%, sweetcorn by 57.3%, and zucchini by 55.6%, while the index for the prices of several crops representing a relative importance of 60.3% increased, most notably: lemons by 202.4%, papaya by 147.8%, and olives by 46.2%.

Comparing the index for November 2025 with that of the preceding month, prices for a group of crops representing a relative importance of 85.4% decreased, most notably: tomatoes by 68.3%, zucchini by 51.2%, and broccoli by 51.0%, while the index for prices of a group of crops representing a relative importance of 14.6% increased, most notably: dates by 48.2%, strawberries by 18.4%, and eggplants by 11.4%.
