Khaberni - A 49-year-old Norwegian patient faced a distressing experience when he visited the emergency department at a public hospital suffering from severe abdominal pain.

The patient underwent initial tests and then returned home with a prescription containing acid-suppressant medications, after being diagnosed with high acidity. The doctors considered his condition non-alarming, without recommending further tests.

After returning home, the pain continued to torment the patient without subsiding, prompting him to make an unconventional decision to present his case to the smart conversation robot “Grook”.

The man detailed his symptoms precisely to the smart system, and the application's response was completely different from the doctors' diagnosis, carrying within it the lifesaving factor.

The artificial intelligence alerted to the severity of the symptoms the patient was experiencing, indicating the possibility of a perforation in the ulcer or an atypical inflammation in the appendix.

"Grook" advised the patient to immediately return to the hospital and undergo a CT scan of the abdomen without delay.

The man heeded the application’s advice and rushed to the hospital with the application’s message, telling the doctors he believed he was suffering from what the artificial intelligence indicated and wanted the computed tomography scan.

The scan revealed a terrifying truth that his appendix was about to burst and needed urgent surgical intervention without delay.

For their part, the medical team immediately transferred the patient to the operating room where he underwent a precise surgical procedure that lasted a full six hours, and the surgeons succeeded in removing the inflamed appendix before it burst, saving the man’s life from serious complications that could have had severe consequences.

The patient expressed his deep gratitude in simple yet poignant words, saying that he is alive today because the artificial intelligence noticed what had escaped the doctors' eyes, confirming that modern technology has become an important partner in protecting public health.
