The phone has become slightly thicker compared to the previous generation, with a bigger battery adopted to enhance the foldable usage experience, according to Android Headlines.
The first leaked image of the Z Fold 8 design shows that the phone doesn't radically differ from Fold 7, but it has become slightly thicker.
According to the report published on Android Headlines, the phone's dimensions when folded are 158.4 × 72.8 × 9 mm, and when unfolded 158.4 × 143.2 × 4.5 mm.
These numbers indicate a slight increase of 0.1 mm when the phone is closed, and 0.3 mm when using the large screen, with the length and width remaining unchanged, reflecting Samsung's commitment to offering a familiar design with internal improvements.
The increase in thickness seems to have been made to support a larger battery with a capacity of 5000 milliampere-hours, the first of its kind in Samsung's foldable phones.
This significant jump compared to the current generation with a capacity of 4400 milliampere-hours, which the series has relied on since the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (2021), is expected to solve one of the most prominent issues facing users regarding battery life.

There are no radical changes in the usage experience, as the screens of the phone are expected to remain the same, and Samsung will not return to the under-display camera design.
