AlKharabsheh Modifications to the Natural Resources Law will facilitate the investment process in Jordan

Khaberni - Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, chaired on Tuesday a meeting of the Mining Sector Partnership Council with private sector representatives to discuss the most prominent proposed amendments to the amended Natural Resources Law, aimed at enhancing the investment environment in the mining sector in Jordan.

Al-Kharabsheh confirmed during the meeting that the new amendments to the law would facilitate the investment process in the mining sector and provide broader benefits to investors.

The meeting comes as part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to review the regulations governing the natural resources sector, in line with best global practices, and to stimulate existing projects and attract future investments, in addition to enhancing procedure clarity and calculating the technical costs of mining projects, and linking them with production contracts to support economic growth and enable the sector in the kingdom.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had prepared a draft law amending the Natural Resources Law and sent it to relevant governmental and private entities for their legal and technical comments, to ensure the comprehensiveness of the amendments and their alignment with the sector's needs and investor requirements.

Additionally, the meeting is a continuation of the ministry's efforts to review the regulations governing the natural resources sector and to enhance the environment attractive for investment in the mining sector, in line with the economic modernization vision.
