Khaberni - It was not an ordinary morning for that family, as a short family trip ended with one of the harshest accidents witnessed on the Dead Sea road, after a horrific car accident led to the death of a couple and injured several of their children.
The accident occurred during the return of the young Uday Muhammad Ahmad Al-Muhafaza (born 1990) and his wife Nahla Khalil Abduljawad Al-Daghimat (born 1995) from a family visit to the wife's parents' house in the capital, Amman, before the road turned into a tragic scene.
Details of the accident near the Dead Sea
According to a family source, the couple was accompanied by their children and the husband's mother in the vehicle, and when they were approaching the Dead Sea area towards Ghor Al-Safi, a collision occurred between two vehicles.
The accident resulted in the death of the couple at the site, while the children were transported to the hospital suffering from various injuries, with one of the girls described as being in critical condition.
5 children facing loss
The accident left behind five children who suddenly lost their parents: Muhammad (2015), Ahmad (2017), Jouri (2016), Shumookh (2020), Abdul Rahman (2023), and Amina (2025).
According to relatives of the family, the deceased was known for his good morals and good reputation among the people of the Southern Jordan Valley region, while a profound state of sadness enveloped the area upon spreading the news.
Public Security Statement
The Public Security Directorate confirmed that the Civil Defense personnel dealt with the accident on Friday evening, which resulted in the death of two people and injuries to eight others with various bruises and wounds.
It added that the injured were taken to the South Shouneh Government Hospital, while the relevant authorities began investigating the circumstances of the accident.
