Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing completed the asphalt mix work within the project to execute the second part of the Katherba - Al-Aghwar road, with the value of its bid reaching one million and 560 thousand Jordanian Dinars.
The work during this phase included a distance of 7.5 kilometers and consisted of one lane and a shoulder for each direction with a total width of 8 meters. It also included executing base layers made from sub-base material with a thickness of 20 cm, a base layer with a thickness of 20 cm, reaching up to the connecting asphalt layer which was implemented with a thickness of 7 cm.
Accompanying the construction work was the execution of a comprehensive system for protecting the side slopes in locations that required it according to technical standards and according to the instructions of the engineering supervision authority to ensure the road's durability and the safety of its users.
The project to complete this part of the Katherba - Al-Aghwar road is classified as one of the prominent strategic projects in the infrastructure due to its direct impact in improving the connection of the heights of Karak Province to the southern Al-Aghwar area, thus actively contributing to facilitating the movement of individuals and the transport of goods, and enhancing the development wheel of agriculture, economy, and tourism in the adjacent areas, in addition to the vital role of the road in alleviating transportation crises and providing a safer and more time-saving alternative route.
