Khaberni - Stemming from our national duty towards the city of Al-Fuhais, and with a firm belief that rights can only be wrested through unified stance and firm words, under the wise Hashemite leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, the Council of Tribal Associations in Al-Fuhais issues this statement to affirm its clear and explicit position towards the Lafarge/Jordanian Cement factories issue.
Firstly: An Unambiguous Endorsement
The Council of Tribal Associations in Al-Fuhais declares its full, decisive, and unconditional support for:
The Advisory Committee of Al-Fuhais City tasked with following up on the Lafarge file.
The Al-Fuhais Municipality Committee, which is performing its national duty in protecting the rights of the city and the interests of its people.
The council emphasizes that any attempt to bypass these committees or to question their legitimacy is completely rejected and constitutes a direct confrontation against the will of the people of Al-Fuhais, and the council will not allow it to pass.
Secondly: Lafarge... A National Issue
The Council of Tribal Associations affirms that the Lafarge file has evolved from a local matter or a secondary demand into an outstanding national issue affecting the rights of the Jordanians, in harmony with the royal vision which emphasizes:
Respect for the rights of local communities.
Conservation of the environment and rehabilitation of the affected lands.
Achievement of justice, transparency, and the rule of law.
From this perspective, the council considers any infringement on the rights of Al-Fuhais as an infringement on the values of the Jordanian state, established by His Majesty King Abdullah II.
Thirdly: A Clear Warning Tone
The Council of Tribal Associations — with utmost clarity — warns against:
1. Any backroom deals that do not go through the official approved committees.
2. Any attempts to dilute the issue or delay solutions with unacceptable excuses.
3. Any internal or external voices trying to destabilize the unified stance of Al-Fuhais or to disrupt the legal course.
The council will consider any step of this kind as a serious breach that will be addressed with a unified and strong stance that preserves the dignity of the city and its rights.
Fourthly: The State's Responsibility and the Rights of Al-Fuhais
The council calls on the official authorities to seriously engage with the fair demands of Al-Fuhais, and to find a comprehensive and definitive solution that matches the extent of the damages that the city has incurred over decades.
The rights are clear, the damages are documented, the responsibilities are defined, and there is no longer any scope for circumvention or hesitation.
In conclusion
The Council of Tribal Associations asserts that Al-Fuhais will not back down and will not compromise on its rights, and that the council will remain the shield that protects the city’s stance and represents the voice of its people with all strength and steadfastness, under the Hashemite banner and under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
