UNICEF funding of 300000 Dinars for Improving Infrastructure at Gaza Camp in Jerash

Khaberni - The Gaza Camp Improvement Committee in Jerash received funding from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) valued at 300,000 Dinars for the construction of a drainage network, according to the camp improvement committee chairman Kayed Ghaith, on Tuesday.

Ghaith said that the project includes the construction of a drainage network in 6 main streets inside the camp, which experience an increase in water levels during the winter season, including the street that connects the camp to the city of Jerash, where the network will be implemented up to the Jerash Directorate of Agriculture, according to Al Mamlaka.

He added that there is a tender for maintenance and rehabilitation worth 40,000 Dinars from the allocations of the governorate council, and implementation will begin after the completion of the drainage network.

Ghaith explained that 5 residential units will be constructed inside the camp for individuals holding the national number, as part of the royal initiatives.

He pointed out that UNICEF will also work on constructing 60 residential units inside the camp, according to a study prepared for families living in dilapidated houses or houses roofed with zinc.
