Syria 5 children die in a tent fire in the countryside of Damascus

Khaberni - 5 children died and a man and two women were injured with varying degrees of burns due to a fire that broke out in two tents in the town of Deir al-Hajar near Ghazlaniyah in the south-eastern countryside of Damascus at midnight last night.

According to initial data, it is likely that the fire was caused by a heater inside one of the tents, which led to the flames igniting and quickly spreading to the adjacent tent, where the family lives.

The Syrian Civil Defense teams affiliated with the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management in the Damascus Countryside responded to the incident and were able to extinguish the fire and gain control over it, while the injured were transported to receive treatment.

The incident highlights the significant risks associated with primitive heating in camps, especially in the absence of safety conditions, leading to repeated similar incidents resulting in severe human losses.
