Khaberni - The Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem confirmed today, Monday, that "the enemy's goals are clear," which are "to destroy the strength that Lebanon enjoys" in preparation for what is called "Greater Israel".
The following highlights what Naim Qassem said:
Today we will define the reading of this phase based on the fact that many developments have taken place that require a comprehensive stance that shows Hezbollah’s point of view.
This aggression shows no regard for any humanitarian or ethical considerations; it is an occupation. We and the resistors have endured, and with all elements, we managed to have the state sign an indirect agreement with the enemy in November 2024.
The agreement stipulated a complete halt to the aggression, the release of prisoners, and the beginning of reconstruction.
We endured for 15 months the failure of Israel to implement any provision of the agreement.
We were patient, and diplomacy did not advance a single step despite hundreds of martyrs and wounded, and this pace was an excuse for the continuous aggression against Lebanon with full American support.
We responded at the right time and realized that this was the appropriate moment to enforce the agreement, only to discover that a very large aggressive plan was prepared for Lebanon, and we deprived the enemy of surprising us and inflicting very large losses that could have occurred.
The enemy's goals are clear: to destroy the strength that Lebanon enjoys in preparation for Greater Israel. For your information, all of Lebanon is targeted because when Israel occupies southern Lebanon, it means it occupies all of Lebanon, and when it presses and distributes its killings on Lebanese territory, it means all of Lebanon is targeted.
In the event of aggression, the Lebanese state is supposed to confront and command its army and forces to face the aggression.
It may be justified that the state did not confront due to its weakness and incapacity, but it cannot be justified that the state becomes a tool for Israel through pressure and making decisions in the government to weaken the internal situation in facing the aggression.
Israel and America have clearly stated that they want to strengthen the army to disarm Hezbollah and fight it, and they want the state to abolish the various institutions of the party, eradicate the existence of the resistance and its people, and everyone who supports it. They want to support the army to the extent that it can fight its own people, and this is something the army cannot do.
Because we are existentially targeted, because our homeland is targeted by the project of Greater Israel, and because our country is threatened with its independence, no one has the right to impose on us. We have decided to confront and resist in defense of Lebanon and its people. We are engaged in a crucial battle in this sense.
We fight under this title and slogan, and we are the rightful owners, and we are attacked by the American Israeli enemy.
This is not a battle for the security of the north, but an aggression to devour Lebanon, and annihilate its strength, people, and resistance.
Mr. President (Joseph Aoun), they press you to confront your people, and together we are children of one country, building it together and establishing it together.
Mr. Prime Minister (Nawaf Salam), what have these individuals, who have been pressuring Lebanon since your government was formed, provided? All their demands are to explode the internal situation and to provide pretexts for the enemy?
Let's face the aggression together, and after that, we'll discuss the future and everything.
Our decision in the resistance is not to rest, not to surrender, and the field speaks.
We reject negotiations with the occupying entity, and these negotiations are pointless and require a Lebanese consensus to shift the compass from non-negotiation to direct negotiation.
