Khaberni - The head of the Union and Reform parliamentary bloc, MP Captain Zuhair Mohammed Al-Khashman stated that the raid by the extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque represents a serious escalation, an unacceptable provocation, and a blatant violation of the existing historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, following the official Jordanian position which condemned the raid and affirmed rejection of attempts to impose temporal and spatial division, emphasizing that the Al-Aqsa Mosque's entire area of 144 dunams is purely a place of worship for Muslims.
Al-Khashman said that these aggressive practices are no longer just fleeting events, but have become a structured escalatory approach targeting the identity of Jerusalem, and blatantly ignoring all international laws and UN resolutions, affirming that any harm to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is a direct affront to the sentiments of the nation and to the fixed Arab and Islamic right in Jerusalem.
He explained that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership and firm positions, stands at the forefront of defenders of Jerusalem and its holy sites, and that the Hashemite custodianship remains the historical, political, and legal support in protecting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from Judaization attempts, assaults, and changing the established status, aligning with the Jordanian Foreign Ministry's stance that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Al-Khashman emphasized that the continuation of raids, the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque's doors to worshippers, and the restriction on freedom of worship reveal the true face of the occupation, confirming that the government of extremism in Israel is advancing policies that drive the region towards further tension and explosion. He also reiterated that the management of Jerusalem's endowments by the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf is the exclusive legal authority responsible for managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque and regulating entry to it.
Al-Khashman called on the international community, Arab and Islamic parliaments, and the free forces of the world to take a clear and firm stance that puts an end to these repeated violations, moving beyond traditional condemnation language to practical steps that deter the occupation and protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
He affirmed that Jerusalem will remain a beacon of right, and that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque will continue to be a red line that cannot be tolerated being touched or having any new reality imposed on it by force.
