Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality commenced on Monday the field inspection at Amman National Park, as part of a plan for rehabilitation and development of the park and enhancing the service level offered there.
The Executive Director for Amman Neighborhood Projects and Tourist Trails, Mohammad Abu Zaitoun, stated that specialized technical and engineering teams conducted an extensive field tour to study the establishment of 3 new pathways within the park encompassing the cultural, historical, and sports pathways, aiming to enrich the visitors' experience and diversify activities within the park.
He mentioned that the specialized teams include several departments of the municipality such as the Department of Urban Heritage, Directorate of Roads, Department of Tenders, Department of Parks and Anti-Desertification, Tourist Trails Team, and Geographical Information Systems.
He clarified that the proposed pathways will consider environmental aspects and public safety, and they will be equipped with guiding signs and informative panels, to serve as both a recreational and educational outlet for the capital's residents and visitors, indicating that work is underway to implement a work plan for what will be executed on the ground during the third quarter of this year.
In turn, the Deputy of Public Works Sector at Amman Municipality, Na'ema Qatanani, pointed out that the project is one of the most significant projects that the municipality is developing to activate domestic tourism and develop the concept of tourist trails in the city in partnership with relevant institutions and ministries.
She noted that the goal of creating tourist pathways within Amman National Park is to integrate historical, cultural, and environmental dimensions, and to offer a touristic and educational experience for visitors through acquainting them with sites of historical and cultural value within the park and promoting the concept of a healthy city through creating walking trails.
