Khaberni - Last Thursday, the American Federal Bureau of Investigation foiled a plot to assassinate Palestinian activist Nerdeen Kiswani.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informed Kiswani and her legal team late Thursday evening that one or more individuals connected to an imminent attempt on her life had been detained. Officials did not disclose the identity of any suspects or the motives behind the plot.
The operation involved the New York Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Agents conducted a search operation under a court order in Hoboken, New Jersey, resulting in the detention of at least one person. Charges are expected to be formally announced later today, Friday.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the operation took place near Willow Avenue and Clinton Street in Hoboken, but indicated that the investigation is still ongoing without further details available.
For her part, Kiswani said that FBI agents informed her that a conspiracy to assassinate her was "about to" happen. She added that she will not stop defending the rights of the Palestinian people.
