Martyr and wounded in Israeli bombardment on a refugee camp in central Gaza

Khaberni - A Palestinian citizen was martyred and others sustained injuries today, Wednesday, in a bombardment carried out by the Israeli occupation army on an area in the central Gaza Strip, according to the civil defense and hospitals in the Strip.

Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for the civil defense in the Gaza Strip, confirmed that "a martyr and several injuries occurred due to the bombardment by the occupation's warplanes on agricultural land south of Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip."

The Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that the occupation planes launched a raid on "Al-Sitt Ummira" camp south of Deir Al-Balah in the central Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of citizen Abdul Rahman Qanbour (22 years old) and injuring 7 others.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported the arrival of Qanbour's body and seven wounded following the raid.

Suhaila Khalil (57 years old), a displaced person from the north of the Strip living in a tent west of Deir Al-Balah, said, "I was in the tent then came out at the sound of people screaming a warning to evacuate to Deir Al-Balah: they will bomb the Al-Sitt Ummira camp, I started calling my children until a warning explosion occurred followed by a huge explosion."

She added, "The explosion occurred several hundred meters from our tent, but the smoke and shrapnel scattered on the displaced people, and a number of injuries were transferred."

Wounded
Earlier, a spokesman for the civil defense in the Gaza Strip announced the transfer of several wounded who were injured by the Israeli warships firing towards displaced tents on the beach of Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis.

Al-Mawasi field hospital in a statement said, "4 injuries were transferred due to targeting by the occupation's ships on the displaced tents, 3 of them children, one of them critically injured, in addition to a man injured."

Hazem Qasim, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said, "The escalation of the occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip through continued killing operations and tightening of the blockade is a clear confirmation of the occupation’s decision to sabotage the ceasefire process and the efforts of the Peace Council."

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, in totals it published last Sunday, announced 72,265 martyrs and 171,959 injured since the outbreak of the war on Gaza on the seventh of October 2023, numbers which are considered reliable by the United Nations.
