Haaretz The Israeli Army Entrenches the Yellow Line as a Permanent Reality in Gaza

Khaberni - Haaretz stated that the Israeli army has transformed what is known as the "Yellow Line" inside the Gaza Strip into a fixed separation line and a permanent field reality, by establishing 32 military sites and constructing a land barrier extending about 17 kilometers.

The newspaper explained that the line, which was previously proposed as a preliminary phase for a gradual withdrawal from the sector, has witnessed increased entrenchment and extensive military deployment along it in recent months.

The newspaper added that the Yellow Line has become a main axis for the deployment of Israeli forces with ongoing military operations around it, noting that more than 200 Palestinians were martyred near this line during the recent period.

The Yellow Line represents a separation zone within the sector, to which the Israeli army temporarily withdrew in accordance with a ceasefire agreement, with the subsequent withdrawal stages to be completed later.

In previous statements, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz asserted that Israel will not withdraw from this line "by a millimeter before the disarmament of Hamas."

Following this, the White House recently announced the structures for managing the transitional phase in Gaza, which include the "Peace Council," "Gaza Executive Council," "National Committee for Managing Gaza," and the "International Stability Force," tasked with "securing the sector, disarming, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, and reconstruction."

This step is part of phase two of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, consisting of 20 items, supported by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 issued on November 17, 2025.

Continued Breaches
In the field, Israel continues its assaults inside the sector, as a Palestinian was martyred and others were injured in an Israeli bombing on the central area of Gaza last Wednesday, according to the Civil Defense Authority in the sector. A number of wounded were transferred due to the targeting of Israeli naval warships at displacement tents in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the number of Palestinian victims of the Israeli aggression since October 2023 has exceeded 72,000 martyrs and 171,000 injured.

The ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, 2025, after a two-year genocidal war on the sector, resulting in extensive destruction affecting about 90% of the civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated at approximately $70 billion.
