Khaberni - The commander of the internal security forces in Aleppo province, Colonel Mohamed Abdel Ghani, announced early Monday, March 9, 2026, the arrest of the perpetrator of the crime of murdering the family found dead inside their home in Al-Sabil neighborhood in Aleppo city. He referred to forwarding him to the judiciary to take legal action against him, as reported by the SANA agency.
A source in the internal security said that the suspect is a relative of the family, indicating that preliminary investigations suggest that the motive for the crime was revenge, without revealing more details.
The crime resulted in the death of a family of four inside their home in a residential building in Al-Sabil neighborhood, namely the lawyer Khalil Abdo, known as (Khaldoun), originating from the village of Matîna (Metîna) in the Sharran district of Afrin countryside, and his wife Shilan Topal, from the village of Hej Khalil (Ĥec Xelîl) in the Rajo district of Afrin countryside, in addition to their two children, Ahmed Khalil Abdo, a fifth-grade student, and Eileen Khalil Abdo, a second-grade student.
