Khaberni - The Department of General Statistics released its annual report on the wholesale price index, which recorded a slight increase in the general wholesale price index for 2025 by 1.01% compared to 2024, while the wholesale price index for the fourth quarter of 2025 increased by 0.04% compared to the previous quarter. Similarly, the general wholesale price index for the fourth quarter of 2025 increased by 0.84% compared to the same period in 2024.
Accordingly, the general wholesale price index for 2025 reached 108.98 compared to 107.89 for 2024, and the general wholesale price index for the fourth quarter of 2025 was 109.10 compared to 109.05 for the preceding quarter. Meanwhile, the general wholesale price index for the fourth quarter of 2025 was 109.10 compared to 108.19 for the same period in 2024.
In terms of commodity groups, the increase in the general wholesale price index from 2025 compared to 2024 was driven by a rise in the prices of the "sale of motor vehicles and their parts, and motorcycles" group by 2.35%, which had a relative importance of 19.79%, and the prices of the "sale of machinery, equipment, and respective supplies" group by 1.49%, which had a relative importance of 9.33%, and the prices of the "trade of raw agricultural materials, grains, food, beverages, and tobacco" group by 1.22%, which had a relative importance of 39.22%, and the prices of the "sale of textiles, clothing, personal and household goods" group by 0.56%, which had a relative importance of 10.91%. Meanwhile, the prices of the "sale of fuel, metals, construction materials, and respective supplies" group decreased by (0.27%), which had a relative importance of 20.76%.
Among the prominent commodity groups that contributed to the rise in the general wholesale price index for the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the preceding quarter was the "sale of machinery, equipment, and respective supplies" group by 1.27%, which had a relative importance of 9.33%, and the prices of the "sale of textiles, clothing, personal and household goods" group by 0.57%, which had a relative importance of 10.91%, and the prices of the "sale of motor vehicles and their parts, and motorcycles" group by 0.06%, which had a relative importance of 19.79%. Meanwhile, the prices of the "sale of fuel, metals, construction materials, and respective supplies" group decreased by (0.10%), which had a relative importance of 20.76%, and the prices of the "trade of raw agricultural materials, grains, food, beverages, and tobacco" group decreased by (0.67%), which had a relative importance of 39.22%.
Comparing the general wholesale price index for the fourth quarter of 2025 with the same period from 2024, the prices of the "sale of machinery, equipment, and respective supplies" group increased by 3.73%, which had a relative importance of 9.33%, and the prices of the "sale of motor vehicles and their parts, and motorcycles" group by 1.17%, which had a relative importance of 19.79%, and the prices of the "sale of textiles, clothing, personal and household goods" group by 0.72%, which had a relative importance of 10.91%, and the prices of the "trade of raw agricultural materials, grains, food, beverages, and tobacco" group by 0.54%, which had a relative importance of 39.22%. Meanwhile, the prices of the "sale of fuel, metals, construction materials, and respective supplies" group decreased by (0.31%), which had a relative importance of 20.76%
