Killing of 3 People in an American Strike on a Suspected Drug Smuggling Boat in the Pacific

Khaberni - The United States executed a new strike in the Pacific on Friday, targeting a boat that was being used to smuggle drugs according to them, which resulted in the death of 3 people, as announced by the US forces in the context of an ongoing campaign for six months.

The United States began targeting boats suspected of involvement in smuggling at the beginning of September, resulting in the death of more than 150 people and the destruction of dozens of boats to date.

President Donald Trump's administration insists that it is at war with those it calls "drug terrorists" active in Latin America. However, it has not provided conclusive evidence that the boats being targeted are involved in drug smuggling, which has sparked sharp controversy over the legality of the strikes.

Experts in international law and human rights organizations say that the strikes may amount to extrajudicial killings, as they are believed to have included civilians who do not pose a direct threat to the United States.

Washington has deployed a significant naval force in the Caribbean region, where it has targeted in recent months boats suspected of being used for drug smuggling, seized oil tankers, and conducted a swift military operation resulting in the arrest of leftist Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
