Zarif advises Trump to abandon criminals

Khaberni - Mohammad Javad Zarif, the former Iranian Foreign Minister, said that his country showed complete seriousness by sending officials with the highest levels of delegation and competence to the Islamabad negotiations, despite the repeated American betrayal.
Zarif wrote on a post on X, "Iran has demonstrated its seriousness despite repeated American betrayals, by sending officials with the highest levels of delegation and capability to Islamabad".

In his post, Zarif expressed his hope that "US President Donald Trump realizes that the only way out of this deadlock, which he has created himself, is to abandon the criminal recommendations of legally pursued individuals, and to reach an agreement before the opportunity is lost."

The Iranian delegation has arrived in the Pakistani capital Islamabad to start talks with the United States.

The official Iranian Broadcasting and Television Authority reported that the delegation is headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, and Defense Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian, reflecting an unprecedented political, security, and economic significance of the delegation.

According to Pakistani sources, the Iranian officials arrived at Noor Khan Air Base under the escort of the Pakistani Air Force, in an indicator of the sensitivity of the talks and their importance, which aim to discuss ways to end the conflict and reach a long-term agreement.

The Iranian media confirmed that the commencement of the talks remains contingent upon the acceptance of the "preconditions" set by Tehran, foremost of which are lifting sanctions and stopping Israeli attacks on Lebanon, as part of a comprehensive settlement.

This round comes after US President Donald Trump announced a temporary truce with Iran for two weeks, while the American delegation is headed by Vice President JD Vance, who is leading the negotiation process in this phase.

The talks focus on consolidating the ceasefire, permanently reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and discussing the terms of a ten-point proposed Iranian agreement, at a time when Trump has threatened the use of military force if diplomatic efforts fail.
