Ben Gvir Storms the Environs of AlAqsa Mosque on the First Friday of Ramadan

Khaberni - Israeli National Security Minister in the extremist government, Itamar Ben Gvir, stormed the surroundings of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on the first Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan.

A video clip showed Ben Gvir storming the Moroccan Gate area, accompanied by the Inspector General of the Occupation Police Dani Levi and the Commander of the Occupation Police in Jerusalem, Avshalom Peled, where Ben Gvir made inciting statements against Palestinians in front of officers and elements of the occupation police.

The Moroccan Gate is one of the main gates of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and is located directly on its western wall towards the south. It is one of the closest gates to both the Qibla Mosque and Al-Marwani Prayer Hall and is aligned with the Western Wall. It has been under the control of the occupation authorities since 1967 and is used for the settlers and occupation forces' raids on the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Governorate of Jerusalem stated that Ben Gvir's storming around the Al-Aqsa Mosque and his statements come amidst the escalation of military measures and restrictions imposed by the occupation on worshippers in occupied Jerusalem.

Despite the strict restrictions of the occupation, 80,000 people performed the first Friday prayer of Ramadan at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem.

The occupation forces imposed strict restrictions on the entry of worshippers coming from other governorates of the West Bank into occupied Jerusalem to perform the first Friday prayer of the blessed month of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation forces turned back dozens of elderly people at the Qalandiya and Bethlehem military checkpoints who were on their way to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the pretext that they did not have the required permits, which allow them entry, and detained 4 paramedics, and hindered the work of the media and medical teams at Qalandiya checkpoint.

The occupation forces also imposed restrictions on the entry of worshippers to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, scrutinized the identities of young men at the entrances to the Old City and the gates of the Mosque, and prevented many of them from entering.
