Khaberni - The Israeli occupation authorities continue to close Al-Aqsa Mosque, the blessed Al-Haram Al-Sharif, and the Church of the Resurrection in the occupied city of Jerusalem for the 39th consecutive day, claiming an "emergency situation" and security conditions.
The Jerusalem governorate stated in a release that during the closure period, the occupation forces impose strict military measures around Al-Aqsa Mosque and close the gates of the Old City in Jerusalem amidst a significant escalation.
This occurred following the raid by the extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, last Monday evening, on the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards from Bab Al-Maghariba, under tight protection from the occupation forces.
This raid comes amid escalating calls from colonial groups to intensify raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and as part of a series of raids carried out by the extremist Ben Gvir on the mosque, where he has raided it about 14 times since taking office in 2023, in the context of an escalatory policy towards the mosque.
The occupation authorities exploit this pretext to strengthen their control over Al-Aqsa Mosque, at a time when popular and Jerusalemite calls are escalating to mobilize towards the nearest points and military barriers surrounding it, in an attempt to break the siege imposed on it, and to enforce its reopening.
During the Jewish "Passover" holiday, which started on April 2nd of this year and continues until the 9th, "Temple groups" exploit this period to incite raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and call for "sacrificing offerings" within it.
Various official and religious bodies warn of the danger of the continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque, considering it a blatant violation of the freedom of worship, and a serious escalation that urgently requires international intervention to stop these measures.
