Jordan strongly condemns Israels actions to annex Palestinian lands and turn them into state properties

Khaberni - Jordan, on Sunday, strongly condemned the Israeli government actions that target the annexation of the occupied Palestinian land, including the latest illegitimate decision by the Israeli government leading to the transformation of lands in the occupied West Bank into what is called "state properties"; blatantly violating international law and international humanitarian law and undermining the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, ending the occupation, and establishing their sovereign independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with its capital in occupied Jerusalem.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.

‏Al-Majali reaffirmed the kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of any decisions and attempts by Israel to impose sovereignty and Israeli laws on the occupied West Bank in a blatant violation of international law, the current legal status of the occupied land, and the international Security Council resolutions, especially resolution 2334 which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at altering the demographic makeup and character and status of the occupied Palestinian territory since 1967, including East Jerusalem, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice which confirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and the invalidity of the settlements and annexation measures of the West Bank lands.

‏Al-Majali warned of the continuation of Israeli illegal policies that violate international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, reiterating that all Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and its violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem are illegitimate and illegal.

‏Al-Majali called on the international community to take on its legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop its dangerous escalation and illegal and unilateral actions in the occupied West Bank, and the necessity to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people including the establishment of their independent state on their national soil; the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
