Khaberni - The Land Transport Regulatory Authority clarified on Tuesday evening that what has been circulated about the new fare for smart applications does not constitute a new decision, but is part of a normal executive procedure aimed at affirming the commitment of smart applications companies to the provisions of the existing system.
The Authority, in its statement, explicitly stated that the regulations stipulate that the fare of transport services provided through smart apps must be higher than the fare of the yellow taxi meter by (20%).
This measure ensures the standardization of the calculation mechanism and the correct application of legal texts.
For clarification, the Authority explained that a trip costing one dinar when using the yellow taxi becomes a total fare of one dinar and twenty fils through smart applications, in accordance with the percentage specified in the system.
The Authority confirmed that this measure does not represent a new modification to the fare, but is a regulation and affirmation of compliance with current instructions, which achieves fairness among different modes of transport and enhances the clarity of the pricing mechanism for both users and service providers alike.
