Egypt Nuun alNiswah Causes a Crisis Before Ramadan 2026

Khaberni - The preparatory scenes for the Ramadan drama marathon of 2026 in Egypt witnessed a sharp confrontation between the Actors' Syndicate and the production company of the series "Nuun al-Niswah".
The crisis began following a decision by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Actors' Syndicate, threatening to impose a financial penalty of up to one million Egyptian pounds on the production company, due to its use of the blogger Haidy Kamel in one of the roles of the series, which the syndicate considered a clear violation of the regulations governing artistic work and an infringement on the rights of syndicate members who are specialized academics.

In a swift step to contain the crisis and avoid financial penalties, the production company communicated with the syndicate and reached a settlement that resulted in deleting all the scenes shot by the blogger from the project entirely.

Ashraf Zaki confirmed in press statements that the producer pledged to comply with the decision, noting that the blogger's participation was limited to only one scene, and yet it was refused permission to be shown in compliance with the syndicate's guidelines.

This incident is part of the campaign led by the syndicate to confront the phenomenon of unregulated encroachment by "bloggers" and "content creators" in the television drama field, where the head of the syndicate emphasized that any use of non-syndicate members or those without official permits in the series "Nuun al-Niswah" or other projects will face stringent measures, stressing that protecting the profession and ensuring the rights of graduates from specialized art colleges and institutes remains the utmost priority, above any marketing or promotional considerations.
