Khaberni - Nour El-Din El-Degheir, the director of Al Jazeera's office in Tehran, suggested that the diplomatic tone has now overshadowed the military tone in the matter of Iran, based on his belief in the statements of Iranian officials and the diplomatic efforts conducted by regional parties.
The Secretary-General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, announced that work is underway to prepare a "structure for negotiations" with the United States, while Washington confirms a deadline to reach an agreement and hints at other options.
El-Degheir pointed out the diplomatic activities that took place over the past two days at a very high level, where Larijani visited Moscow, while the Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi visited Turkey, and the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani visited Tehran.
These diplomatic movements indicate that perhaps a diplomatic line has been opened and there is some form of indirect communication between Tehran and Washington, or at least - adds the director of Al Jazeera's office - the messages are reaching both countries through intermediaries.
Tehran and Washington are trying through intermediaries to create a "negotiation framework," as Larijani discussed, and El-Degheir said that currently, discussions are revolving around the form of the proposed negotiations between the two parties, and whether the phase of indirect negotiations can be surpassed to sit down in direct negotiations, which was a Turkish proposal.
According to El-Degheir, the Iranian side is trying to study the proposal of direct negotiations, and he mentioned that a proposal was made that there should be a tripartite table between Washington, Tehran, and Ankara.
Regarding the negotiation proposal, El-Degheir reminds that the United States insisted that the negotiations include issues of the nuclear program, missile programs, and Iran's regional relations, but a diplomatic move might have led at the last moment to separating the files, starting with the nuclear file.
