The official page of one of the digital platforms on the "Instagram" app resolved this debate, announcing Youssef's contract to star in a series called "The Frenchman". It posted pictures of him signing the contract, followed by behind-the-scenes shots from the start of filming, where he is leaning on a cane.
Amr Youssef returns to television in the format of short series, where "The Frenchman" consists of only 10 episodes. It is scheduled to be aired on a digital platform in the coming period, and belongs to the genre of social drama enveloped in an atmosphere of suspense, moving away from the traditional long-form works.
The production company is currently busy completing the casting and contracting processes with the rest of the series heroes, aiming to form a complete work team before intensifying the filming stages.
This project comes after a period Youssef spent focusing on cinema, achieving notable success in major films like "Shako" and the third part of "Sons of Rizk", in addition to his experiences in "Darwish" and the modern version of "The Ladder and Snake 2".
Amr Youssef had been absent from television drama for about three years, with his last dramatic appearance through the series "Battalion 101" in the Ramadan season of 2023, which dealt with real military heroics.
