Khaberni - The Israeli military announced today, Sunday, the receipt of three new F-35I Adir fighter jets after they landed at Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel.
The military, in a statement released this evening, explained that the new aircraft, produced by the American company Lockheed Martin, will be integrated into both the 116th Lions of the South Squadron and the 140th Golden Eagle Squadron of the Israeli Air Force.
The "Adir" fighter is a special version of the "F-35" specially designed to meet the operational requirements of the Israeli Air Force. It features advanced local systems in electronic warfare, sensing, and radar jamming, along with sophisticated countermeasures.
The Hebrew name "Adir" means "Great."
The Israeli military announced its use of the "Adir" variant for missions targeting sites associated with the Iranian military infrastructure in Syria in 2018.
The stealth fighter
The Israeli military stated that this aircraft represents a pivotal element in Israel’s defensive strategy, in light of what it described as "multifront security challenges," due to its advanced stealth capabilities and high precision in executing combat missions.
The Israeli military clarified that the "F-35" aircraft have played a central role since the outbreak of the war on Gaza in carrying out defensive and offensive tasks across several fronts, relying on their technological and operational superiority, according to the statement.
The statement emphasized the importance of the security partnership between Israel and the United States, describing it as a fundamental factor in supporting what it called "regional stability" in the Middle East.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military has intensified its reliance on its advanced warplanes in its military operations.
Israel has used these aircraft in carrying out raids on the Gaza Strip, in addition to aerial attacks targeting sites in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, as well as strikes inside Iran.
Israel publically boasts its aerial superiority as a fundamental pillar of its military doctrine, affirming that possessing a fleet of advanced aircraft allows it to operate freely in the skies of the Middle East and execute precise long-range strikes.
