American Authorities Discussing Possible Strike Plans on Iran

Khaberni - The Wall Street Journal reported, citing U.S. officials, that their authorities are discussing plans for potential strikes on Iran, including possible targets.

This comes against the backdrop of threats on this matter by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The newspaper said, "Officials from Trump's administration have conducted preliminary discussions on how to launch an attack on Iran if necessary.. including identifying the facilities that could be targeted."

According to the newspaper, one option being considered is to launch a wide range of airstrikes on a number of military targets in Iran.

At the same time, sources told the newspaper that the discussions were within the framework of usual planning, and there were no indications that the strikes would actually be carried out.

The officials also indicated that no personnel or military equipment had been deployed in preparation for the attack. They confirmed that there is no consensus yet in the United States regarding the potential strikes against Iran.

Trump had previously warned the Iranian authorities of severe consequences if they were to kill protesters. On Saturday, the U.S. President announced the United States' readiness to "help" Iran.

Earlier on Saturday, Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah of Iran ousted in 1979, posted another video on the social media platform "X," calling on the Iranian people to go on a general strike, emphasizing that the goal of the protests should be to take control of the streets and strategically important facilities.

Pahlavi had previously called on U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene in the situation in Iran.
