Trump Cuba is Next

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump escalated tensions with Havana last Friday and said "Cuba is next", during a speech at an investment forum where he praised the military successes in Venezuela.
Trump said in Miami, "I have built this great military. I told you would never have to use it. But sometimes you have to use it. And Cuba is next, by the way". without clarifying what he meant.

Last week, Trump hinted at the possibility of seizing the island run by socialists, telling reporters he believes he would have the "honor of taking over Cuba". For several weeks, Trump has been repeating that Cuba is on the brink of collapse.

Under Trump's administration, Washington increased economic pressure on Cuba to cut off the flow of foreign currency and oil to the Caribbean island.

Pressure escalated after U.S. authorities conducted an operation in January where they arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in the capital Caracas and transferred him to the United States.

This move deprived Havana of one of its most important allies, who had long supported the island, particularly through oil supplies, amidst the decades-long American trade embargo against Cuba.

Cuba and the United States are holding formal talks, as confirmed by both parties.
