Gerard Butler Returns with Greenland 2 Migration A Survival Journey After a Global Disaster

Khaberni - Scottish actor Gerard Butler returns in the second part of the thriller "Greenland," portraying the character John Garrity who leads his family on a quest for safety following a world-threatening disaster. The film reveals their escape journey from Greenland to France, amidst significant challenges to stay alive, and will soon be screened in cinemas.

In his statements, Butler confessed his lack of confidence in his survival abilities under such conditions, smilingly saying: "I would be among the first to fall."

The film, which will be screened in cinemas on Friday, is a sequel to "Greenland" which was released in 2020, and which saw Butler's character attempting to escape with his family from Atlanta, Georgia, to a safe haven in Greenland after hearing news of a comet approaching Earth.

Butler affirmed that the great success of the first part in attracting the audience was a motivation for producing the second part, and added, "I felt that the film left a significant impact, especially since it was released during the pandemic.. and sometimes you say okay, this is enough, leave it alone. And other times you wonder how far can this story go?"

The film continues the survival story, tracing the journey of John and his wife Allison, portrayed by actress Morena Baccarin, and their son Nathan, played by Roman Griffin Davis, as they flee from Greenland in search of safety in France.

Butler wondered if "the story could extend further? Maybe." He added "We’ve seen where the events have reached, but what will happen next? How will the world actually start to rebuild?"
