Khaberni - The Meteorological Department clarified that Wednesday will witness a slight increase in temperatures during the day, while the weather remains cold in most areas and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds appearing at various altitudes especially in the north and center of the kingdom. The winds will be southwesterly and active. At night, the weather will be colder with continued cloudiness in the north of the kingdom.
It warned of reduced horizontal visibility in the morning due to fog formation over high mountainous elevations.
The Meteorological Department explained that by the will of Allah, on Thursday, the kingdom will be affected by a cold and humid air mass accompanied by a low-pressure system centered north of Cyprus, where a decrease in temperatures will occur, and the weather will be cold and partly cloudy turning to cloudy, with rainfall starting at dawn from the north of the kingdom and gradually extending during the afternoon hours to the central regions and parts of the eastern regions.
It added that the rains could be heavy at times, especially in the north and center of the kingdom including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area, and it may be accompanied by thunder occasionally, warning of the danger of flood formation in valleys and low areas.
It is expected that during the night, the rain will gradually extend to limited parts of the southwestern regions.
The winds will be westerly active with strong gusts that may reach speeds between 50-60 km/h, stirring dust in the desert areas, before turning at night to moderate to active northwesterly.
On Friday, the weather will be cold and partly to occasionally cloudy, with light rain showers from time to time in the western parts of the kingdom, and northwesterly winds moderate, becoming active at intervals. During the evening and nighttime hours, the chances of precipitation will decrease and the conditions will gradually stabilize, with fog expected to form over mountainous elevations and plains.
The Meteorological Department indicated that on Saturday, the weather will be stable in all areas, cold in most areas, and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate east winds, while the weather becomes colder at night.
The Meteorological Department urged citizens, with the kingdom being affected by a low-pressure on Thursday, to stay away from flood channels and exercise caution, beware of slippery roads experiencing rainfall, not to risk crossing areas where rainwater accumulates, and be aware of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog and dust in some areas.
