344 labor complaints against entities not complying with minimum wage

Khaberni - The number of labor complaints received by the "Protection" platform related to the non-compliance of some private sector entities with paying the minimum wage reached 344 complaints, from the beginning of this year until the end of last November.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, Mohammad Al-Zyoud, confirmed that the ministry handled the labor complaints regarding the non-compliance with the minimum wage very seriously, noting that the resolution rate of these complaints over the past 11 months reached nearly 95%.

He explained that the minimum wage file is one of the issues where there is no room for leniency, emphasizing that the ministry insists on the necessity for all entities in various sectors to comply with the Labor Law and the relevant decisions, as this has a direct impact on protecting the rights of workers and enhancing a decent work environment.

He indicated that the remaining percentage of complaints is still under procedure and follow-up, pointing out that the inspection teams of the ministry have taken necessary legal actions against some non-compliant entities, where violations have been issued against them for not responding to the directives of the Ministry of Labor, and these violations have been referred to the judiciary according to approved norms.
