The Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Thabit Al-Nabulsi, said that the number of visitors to Aqaba during the weekend and the Glorious Feast reached around 15,000.
Al-Nabulsi added on Friday that tourist delegations and families reached Aqaba via land and air crossings, from various nationalities, in addition to local tourists.
He revealed an active commercial movement through shopping and one-day tourism.
He confirmed that the authority launched the "روحها بتردّ الروح" campaign, aimed at boosting tourism in Aqaba.
He noted that occupancy rates for three, four, and five-star hotels were between 85% and 90% over the weekend, according to Al-Nabulsi, pointing out that occupancy rates during the rest of the week remain moderate and do not achieve full occupancy.
