The weather forecaster at the Meteorological Department, Issam Yaqoub, expects the kingdom to start being affected by a humid air mass coinciding with a low pressure at dawn on Saturday, which is expected to cause rain in the north and center of the kingdom, as well as parts of the southwestern and eastern regions, indicating that there are chances for light scattered showers in limited parts of the northern regions on Friday evening.
Yaqoub added on Friday that the intensity of the wet mass’s impact increases during the evening and night, with rain being heavy at times in parts of the north and center of the kingdom, and it may occasionally be accompanied by thunder. Meanwhile, the winds will be moderate southwesterly, increasing at times, and stirring up dust in the southern regions.
Yaqoub explained that the impact of the wet mass continues until Sunday, with the weather remaining cloudy, cold, and rainy. He anticipates that the rains will be heavy at intervals in some areas, accompanied by winds reaching speeds of 50–60 km per hour.
The kingdom will be affected on Monday by another low pressure centered over the island of Cyprus, with the weather being cold and cloudy, and with renewed rainfall in the north and central parts of the kingdom and parts of the southwestern and eastern regions. It is expected that the rain will occasionally be heavy in the north and center of the kingdom and may be accompanied by thunder, while the winds will be active westerly with strong gusts occasionally reaching speeds of 50–60 km per hour, stirring up dust, especially in desert areas, with the intensity of the rainfall gradually decreasing during the night hours.
