Khaberni - In the framework of supporting scientific research and innovation in Jordan, engineer Ziad Al-Manaseer hosted the presidents of the official and private Jordanian universities at an official dinner at his home coinciding with the opening of applications for the first session of the Ziad Al-Manaseer Award for Scientific Research and Innovation for the year 2025. The event was also attended by a selection of academics and figures involved in the higher education and scientific research sector.
This event followed the official announcement of the opening of applications for the award on December 12th 2025, aimed at raising awareness of its goals and message, and ensuring it reaches the highest academic levels in Jordanian universities, and encouraging researchers, faculty members, and students to engage with it and participate actively.
During the meeting, engineer Ziad Al-Manaseer delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the role of scientific research and innovation in building society and developing vital sectors, noting that the award represents a national platform for supporting and honoring creative minds, and motivating universities to transform scientific knowledge into practical solutions with tangible impact. Dr. Tamara Othman, head of the executive committee of the award, also presented a brief overview of the award, including its vision, goals, and main focus areas.
Engineer Al-Manaseer affirmed that the launch of the award was in harmony with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein – may God protect him – to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development, and support the goals of the economic modernization vision. This originated from the belief that distinguished scientific research and innovation are fundamental pillars for knowledge development and accelerating progress in our beloved homeland.
The event was a valuable opportunity for direct communication with the presidents of Jordanian universities, to discuss research cooperation prospects, and enhance partnerships between industry and educational institutions, contributing to expanding the participation circle and achieving the desired impact of the award on scientific research and innovation in Jordan.
