Khaberni - The Jordan-India Economic Forum commenced on Tuesday morning in the capital Amman, on the sidelines of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the kingdom.
Participating in the forum are leaders from more than 20 major Indian companies in the fields of manufacturing, engineering, energy, information and communication technology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, logistics services, and financial services.
Jordanian private sector companies from the same sectors are also participating to work on establishing effective partnerships.
The forum witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to enhance and facilitate trade relations, encourage investment, and exchange information and expertise.
His Majesty King Abdullah II, yesterday Monday, held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Al Husseiniya Palace, focusing on mechanisms to expand cooperation between Jordan and India.
His Majesty described the Jordanian-Indian business forum, held in Amman on Tuesday, as an opportunity to discuss developing trade cooperation, encouraging investment, and building stronger partnerships between the two countries in vital areas.
