Leader in the Iranian Parliament Suggests Israeli Involvement in Sydney Attack

Khaberni - The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, Ibrahim Azizi, stated on Monday that the accusations promoted by Israel regarding Iran's involvement in the shooting incident targeting Jewish ceremonies in Sydney, Australia, are hasty and illogical claims, likely reflecting Israel's own involvement in the incident.

Azizi wrote on his "X" platform account, "The terrorist crime that occurred in Australia falls within a medieval approach in the modern era, and reflects the incompetence of the perpetrators, instigators, and planners," adding that "the hasty and illogical statements issued by the bogus and criminal Israeli entity might indicate its involvement in this crime."

Azizi's statements came in response to those of Danny Danon, Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, who said in an interview with "Fox News" that he "would not be surprised if it turns out that Iran had a role in the attack targeting a Jewish gathering in Sydney."

Danon added that his country sees Iran and "Hezbollah" have been trying for months to target Jewish communities and Israeli interests in various countries.

The Israeli ambassador pointed to previous attempts, including threats targeting the Israeli ambassador in Mexico City, as well as attacks that occurred in Argentina in the past, considering these incidents as evidence of "Iran and its allies' intentions."

Meanwhile, local Australian media reported that the perpetrators of the attack were Sajid Akram (50 years old) and Navid Akram (24 years old), noting that they are father and son.
