China Ready to Cooperate with Russia to Calm the Middle East War

Khaberni - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov during a phone call today, Sunday, that China is ready to continue cooperating with Russia in the United Nations Security Council and to make efforts to calm the situation in the Middle East.

Firefighting Agreement
Wang emphasized that the fundamental way to deal with navigation issues in the Strait of Hormuz is to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible, adding that China has always advocated for the political settlement of escalated issues through dialogue and negotiation.

The call came ahead of an anticipated vote in the United Nations Security Council in the coming days on a Bahraini resolution to protect commercial shipping in and around the Strait of Hormuz.

This announcement comes while the Sultanate of Oman, today, Sunday, held a meeting with Iran at the level of deputies in the foreign ministries of both countries, attended by specialists from both sides.

The official Omani news agency via X added that the meeting aims to explore options regarding ensuring the smooth transit through the Strait of Hormuz under the current regional circumstances.

It also explained that experts from both sides presented a number of visions and proposals regarding this.

President Donald Trump increased pressure on Iran in the past few hours to strike a deal and open the vital Strait of Hormuz or face attacks on its energy and electricity infrastructure.

Trump informed Tehran that the deadline to reach a deal to end the war is about to expire. He posted on the platform "Truth Social" yesterday, Saturday, "Remember when I gave Iran ten days to reach a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is running out - only 48 hours before hell befalls them!"

As for that last deadline, today, Sunday, only 24 hours remain before April 6th, the date previously set by the American president.

In the midst of these developments, Pakistan continues its efforts to push both the American and Iranian sides to negotiate.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated his appreciation for the efforts and assistance provided by Islamabad.

Threat of "Hell"
It is notable that the war has entered its sixth week, between Trump's threat of hell and Iran's response with the same.

Iran has also stipulated a "final and permanent cessation of the war" in any talks.

The American side had previously presented a 15-point plan or proposal to end the war, including abandoning nuclear weapons, handing over highly enriched uranium, and reducing the Iranian missile program.

Meanwhile, the Iranian side has presented 5 conditions for stopping the conflict, including compensation for damages inflicted on the country and a definitive end to the war with guarantees regarding the same.
