Dina AlBashir demands that the government hold accountable those responsible for the AlShamusa tragedy

Khaberni - Khaberni - MP Dina Al-Bashir asked the government to provide a clear answer regarding the party responsible for the "Al-Shamusa heaters tragedy" which took the lives of 10 people in Jordan, questioning via a post on her social media page: "Who is responsible? Is it the officially registered company that sells these stoves? Or the Standards and Metrology Institution as the supervisory authority? Or is the responsibility lost among the agencies?".

Al-Bashir emphasized that the safety of citizens is not a matter for speculation or blame trading, insisting on the need to know who monitors, who holds accountable, and who prevents these tragedies from recurring, stating: "The lives of Jordanians are a trust... and accountability is mandatory".

The Public Security Directorate formed a governmental investigation committee to examine the heaters sold and available in the market after the death of 10 people, and precautionarily seized 5000 units of "Al-Shamusa" from factories and shops, while sending samples to the Royal Scientific Society to determine the causes of the technical malfunction.

"Al-Shamusa" is known as low-priced gas heaters marketed as economical and safe, yet a series of fatal incidents prompted authorities to firmly warn citizens against using them.
