Khaberni - The financial and economic committee in the Senate, chaired by Senator Rajai Muasher, held a meeting on Wednesday with the economic ministerial team to review the governmental measures in the current conditions.
Muasher stated that the meeting was held to review the governmental decisions that were taken to face current challenges, their targets, and their economic impacts, in addition to reviewing alternative plans aimed at sustaining supply chains.
The economic ministerial team, led by Mohannad Shehadeh, and including the Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yaarub Qudah, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh, Minister of Finance Abdel Hakim Al Shibli, and Minister of Tourism Imad Hijazin, presented an overview of the main decisions and governmental measures directed to support the sectors affected by developments in the region, alongside the alternative plans that have been prepared to keep pace with new developments.
The economic team ministers confirmed that the Jordanian economy is resilient and accustomed to dealing with crises, and that these measures aim to mitigate the effects on the economic sectors.
They explained that adopting the package of decisions was aimed at protecting the citizen and ensuring the smooth flow of products through the sustainability of supply chains and energy security, with confirmation that continuity of communication and ongoing coordination are based on positive partnerships with the private sector, along with having regulatory measures on the local market.
The senators expressed their satisfaction with the governmental measures taken to protect the citizen and sustain supply chains; they also welcomed the government's rapid response and the establishment of alternative plans in light of regional developments.
