The meteorologists in the Arab Weather app stated that the latest readings from what is known as computer simulation indicate the rush of a cold air mass towards the region which may be the coldest since several months (i.e., from last spring) to the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula starting Monday 15/12/2025, and this air mass coincides with the push of a cold trough in the upper air layers and the flow of moist westerly air currents which causes a new rainy situation, God willing.
In detail, temperatures on Sunday 14/12/2025 remain below their usual climatic averages by about two degrees Celsius, and the weather will be cold and foggy in the morning hours in several areas of the eastern plains including parts of the desert road, and for the rest of the day, the weather will be relatively cold with clouds appearing at different heights, and there is a possibility in the afternoon and evening for local showers of rain in very limited areas .
An air mass with temperatures colder than usual affects the kingdom starting Monday, and showers of rain in the late afternoon are concentrated in the southern
It is expected, God willing, that the kingdom will be affected from Monday by an air mass with temperatures colder than usual, and it may be the coldest in several months, as temperatures drop during the day on Monday and the weather is generally cold with light to moderate southwesterly winds.
During the late afternoon, the kingdom gradually is affected by a rainy situation, as the clouds increase and the weather becomes variable between partly cloudy and cloudy, and chances gradually increase for rain in several areas of the kingdom, and these rains are concentrated in the south and east of the kingdom including the southern Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Wadi Araba in addition to the governorates of Karak, Tafilah, and Ma'an including Petra and Wadi Musa, and it is not excluded that these showers may be heavy occasionally causing thunderstorms, leading to flash floods and flowing wadis, and low clouds passing close to the ground lead to fog formation and reduced horizontal visibility over high mountain elevations.
Tuesday: More decrease in temperatures and cold cloudy weather with continued chances of rain in several areas
And during the day hours on Tuesday 16/12/2025, more decrease occurs on the temperatures so that the maximum reaches around 10 degrees Celsius in the mountains including the capital Amman, and it will be colder than what is supposed to be by several degrees Celsius, and the weather remains cold and partly to fully cloudy, and God willing, rain showers will fall on scattered areas of the kingdom, and it is not excluded that some of these showers might occasionally be heavy in some areas, with continued formation of fog over the mountainous elevations caused by passing low clouds touching the ground surface, and the winds are northwesterly moderate with active gusts which immensely increase the feeling of coldness.
During the night hours of Tuesday/Wednesday, even colder winds seep into the kingdom resulting in a noticeable drop in minimum temperatures to around 5 degrees Celsius in various regions of the kingdom especially in the peaks of high mountain elevations and eastern plains, and the weather becomes very cold, God willing, with continued chances of rain in some areas especially the southern and eastern ones.
Wednesday: More decrease on temperatures with cold and dry northeasterly winds which significantly enhance the feeling of coldness
Computer simulation outputs indicate that the cold air mass will continue to affect the kingdom on Wednesday 17/12/2025 and thus a noticeably cold weather will prevail, with further decrease on temperatures especially those felt by the human body due to cold and dry northeasterly winds which in turn multiply the sensation of coldness especially in the early morning hours, with continued chances ready for rainfall especially in the eastern Badia areas.
While the weather becomes very cold during the night of Wednesday/Thursday and Thursday morning in wide regions of the kingdom, with temperature lows dropping below 5 degrees Celsius especially in the eastern Badia and plains areas.
