Khaberni - American President Donald Trump confirmed the rescue of the pilot whose F-15 aircraft was shot down in Iran, describing the rescue operation as "one of the most daring search and rescue operations in American history."
The pilot was the second member of the F-15 crew that Iran announced on Friday had been shot down by its air defenses, and Washington had announced the rescue of one of them last Friday.
For his part, American President Donald Trump said that the U.S. military carried out one of the most daring search and rescue operations in American history, adding "I am pleased to inform you that the officer who was rescued is now safe and sound."
Trump added that the U.S. military deployed dozens of the world’s deadliest armed aircraft to retrieve him, noting that one of the crew members was injured but would be fine.
The American President clarified that the officer who was rescued holds the rank of colonel and is now safe and healthy after a chase in the mountains of Iran, saying "the brave warrior was behind enemy lines in the rugged mountains of Iran where he was being pursued by our enemies."
For its part, the Revolutionary Guard announced that last night it shot down an American drone south of Isfahan, which it said was assisting in the search for the American pilot.
