Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that the Residence and Borders Department and the Human Trafficking Unit in the Criminal Investigation Department arrested a group of individuals, after they were involved in employing runaway domestic workers holding foreign nationalities, on a daily wage system within the capital, following information received about their exploitation of the workers and employing them outside the legal framework.
He confirmed that all the involved parties were detained, including the workers who were employed in violation of the law, in work conditions that represent direct exploitation and fall under human trafficking offenses.
He emphasized that employing runaway workers is not just a labor violation but is considered a crime that threatens the safety of the workers, exposes them to exploitation, and violates labor and residency laws.
The spokesperson added that the case was referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the investigation and take deterrent legal measures against the involved parties.
