How did the feud between Trump and Musk end

Khaberni - After months of sharp estrangement, Elon Musk recently appeared at the luxurious dinner organized by the American president's administration at the White House in the presence of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, opening the door to talks about a reconciliation between Trump and Musk.

During his speech, Trump specifically praised Musk with three public commendations in his speech focused on the future of business and investments.
According to the "New York Post", Trump not only praised but also joked with Musk saying, "You're lucky that I am with you, Elon", and added, asking: "Has he really thanked me before?", and revived scenes from the 2024 election battle, addressing him directly in front of the audience.

Diplomacy behind the scenes

Sources inside the White House revealed that behind this rapprochement were strenuous efforts led by Vice President JD Vance and White House Chief of Staff Suzie Wiles, who quietly worked on rebuilding bridges with Musk and confirming that he has a "direct line" with the administration through which he can express his remarks and support.
One source described the situation saying, "Mutual trust was the most important element, and the private and candid dialogues allowed the relationship to grow again," and another confirmed that Musk clearly wanted to send a message that he was "supportive and cooperative" with the Trump administration.

From rivalry to handshake

The dispute between the two had peaked in June last year when Musk criticized the "One Big Beautiful Bill" due to spending costs, while Trump threatened to cut federal funding to Musk's companies, then the billionaire explosively announced his intention to launch a third party that might threaten the Republicans in the 2026 elections.

However, the turning point came during a brief encounter at Charlie Kirk's funeral, where the two men conversed, ending months of escalation, coinciding with efforts to correct decisions that upset Musk, most notably the re-nomination of astronaut Garred Isaacman to lead NASA after his nomination was withdrawn due to pressure from influential administration officials.
Intersecting interests

The visit of the Saudi delegation to Washington coincided with the announcement of a huge deal for a joint project between Musk's "xAI" company and the Saudi "Human AI" company to build a 500-megawatt data center.
But several sources denied that Musk's attendance was linked to personal interests, confirming that he came "out of genuine support for the American administration."

A handshake.. not a full return

Despite the positive atmosphere, a White House official warned against exaggerating the description of the new relationship, saying, "Trump forgives, but he does not forget. The relationship is friendly, but it is not a complete friendship as it was before."
It appears that Washington is witnessing a new round of alliance between the American president and the globally most influential businessman, an alliance that may reshape the political and economic landscape in the coming period, but with red lines still present behind the scenes.
