Khaberni - Libyan authorities released a man holding both Israeli and Russian citizenship, who had been detained for several weeks in Tripoli, following Russian diplomatic intervention.
According to "i24NEWS", the man, a Jewish resident in Russia, had entered Libya through the border crossing with Tunisia during a visit to the region, and then contact was lost with him after he crossed the border, causing concern for his family.
According to a source familiar with the case, the reason for the detention was the man's attempt to pray in a synagogue in Tripoli without prior permission from the Libyan authorities. He was released after mediation by Russian officials.
