Ministry of Justice completes over 218000 remote court sessions in a year

Khaberni - The Ministry of Justice completed 218,419 remote court sessions in the first year of Jafar Hassan's government, which allow for hearing witnesses and inmates in a way that contributes to speeding up and facilitating legal procedures.

According to government data reflecting the work of the Ministry of Justice in its first year as documented by "Al-Mamlaka", 5,115 alternative sanctions were implemented during the period from September 2024 to September 2025.

The remote court sessions project, facilitated by modern technologies, helps reduce costs previously borne by the relevant authorities and the state's treasury, represented by the process of transporting inmates through the establishment of a television linkage between courtrooms and correction and rehabilitation centers.

The year saw a notable expansion in the application of alternative sanctions through community service, alongside the enhancement of the digital justice system and improving the quality of service offered to citizens.

The ministry issued 839,616 certificates of non-conviction, alongside accomplishing 487,515 notary transactions, and implementing the electronic bracelet on 311 cases, thereby enhancing the efficiency of justice and keeping pace with the requirements of judicial modernization.

The Ministry of Justice worked on increasing the number of beneficiaries from the electronic payment service to 286,270 citizens within a year, while a total of 65.8 million judicial papers were archived as part of the digital transformation efforts and electronic file preservation.

The substantial achievements included; the launch of the digital signature service on judicial documents to facilitate for citizens, the launch of the national strategy to combat human trafficking, alongside the national plan for the rule of law and the national strategy for criminal justice.

Also, the launch of the electronic services portal, which includes 46 services and 11 services for the courts, and the opening of the Jerash Court Palace and the expansion of the Ma'an Court.

In an effort to accelerate the modernization of procedures and build a modern digital infrastructure, the ministry began constructing its new central headquarters and working on a station for handing over and receiving the paper archive within the judicial digital transformation project, along with forming a team to manage the change in the digital signature project.
