Khaberni - Jordanians are anticipating that the central bank will issue tomorrow, Thursday, a decision to reduce the interest rates on all monetary policy instruments by 25 basis points for the second consecutive time during the year 2025.
This comes after the US Federal Reserve today, Wednesday, decided to reduce interest rates in the United States for the second consecutive time by 25 basis points.
The awaited decision will be issued by the Open Market Operations Committee at the Jordanian Central Bank.
The committee had decided in its sixth meeting held in September, to reduce the central bank's main interest rate and other interest rates of monetary policy instruments by 25 basis points.
The decision at that time was based on the committee's assessment of the economic, monetary, and financial developments, and its monitoring of interest rate trends regionally and globally.
The US Federal Reserve on Wednesday evening reduced the main interest rate by 25 basis points to a range of 3.75-4.00%, for the second consecutive time in 2025, indicating an increase in negative risks to employment in the past few months.
